It all started on June 26, 2015 when the die was finally cast.
While gay rights activists celebrate a landmark decision from the highest court of the “most powerful nation” in the world, true born-again believers who uphold the authority of the Bible, have now entered an era of unprecedented spiritual warfare.
I have been weeping on my knees since watching on you tube the widespread celebration over the decision. I am reminded by a verse in the Bible where the Almighty Father says, “ My people perish for lack of knowledge.” This revelry over a cause cloaked under the guise of “equal rights” shows how much America, with the rest of the world, has slid deeper into the pit of moral degradation.
Love “wins” so gay rights activists say– with no less than the President of their land at the forefront of it all. He who put gay rights on top of his agenda has finally clinched his main goal – the legalization of gay marriage across all 50 states of America. To celebrate this “milestone,” the white house itself lit up with rainbow colors—the colors representing the LGBT community– the night after the decision was handed. It was a quite a spectacle– like an imposing Disney castle all aglow in the dark in a land of make-believe.
I grieve because prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes, and yet majority are unaware as they are swept in their passions and desires. For these people, love has “won” and the freedom to be who they are sans moral boundaries, has “triumphed.”
In reality a great rebellion against the Almighty God has again ensued, brought about by decisions of the Supreme court that have changed the country’s moral landscape. It all started in 1963 when prayers were taken out of schools and in 1973, when abortion was legalized. The downward spiral and shredding of the moral fiber has accelerated since then. In 2015, marriage took on a new definition: a union between two persons of the same gender with no way of procreating, and thus resulting in desolation.
This is the ultimate assault on God’s Word that defined from the very beginning, marriage as a covenant between a man and a woman before God, their maker who explicitly commanded them to be “fruitful” and multiply.
Indeed, we are living in a period when evil is regarded as good and good is regarded as evil. We are living in the days of Noah when wickedness defiled the land and God sent a deluge to wipe out mankind. We are reliving the days of Lot when sexual perversion was the order of the day and God had to rain down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah in judgment against the sinfulness and corruption of the people. We are living at a time when men, through a stroke of a pen, decide for themselves what is right and what is not. And right is what they see fit.
In the midst of this crooked generation, God’s Word remains true. Indeed, no human institution no matter how “powerful” it may seem, can circumvent what God has clearly instituted. Human judgment and decisions especially those that run in opposition to what the Almighty says are nothing to gloat about.
The book of Matthew says, “Heaven and earth will pass away (and this includes every single being and man-made institutions and structures) but the Word of the Lord stands forever. (Matthew 24:35)
What then does this landmark decision signify to the church in America, and eventually across the world?
An evangelical minister could not have said it better: Persecution is coming to those who will stand firm on the truth of God’s Word, to those who will obey God rather then men. But let us take heart, as the Lord Jesus himself said that we should not be afraid of him who can just kill the body but cannot kill the soul. We ought to be afraid of Him who can kill both body and soul in hell (Matthew 10:28).
People of God, the shofar is about to be blown. We who are eagerly waiting for our redeemer’s return must get our houses ready. He is now right at the door. Let us continue in our labor because we shall soon enter his rest.
For those whose eyes are still feasting on the world and what it offers, get down on your knees and look up. You are loved, but you need to come to the Lord on His terms, not yours. Look to the Son who bore your sins to the cross and died for you. His work of redemption is for all people and for all time. Remember 1 Peter 3:9, the Lord is patient with you. He does not want even a single one to perish, but that all should come to repentance.
He says in Ezekiel 18:23,
“Am I a God who delights in the death of the wicked? No! I want them to turn back from their sins, and live.”
“As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live.” (Ezekiel 33:11)
(Oh, how gracious you are Lord God. You are a perfect Father who desires only the good of His children. There is no one like you).
While our creator is a God who relents from sending calamity to a repentant people as he did with Nineveh through the prophet Jonah, he is also swift in bringing judgment to a wicked, perverse and unrepentant people who willfully defy him and mock his words, and even induce others to do so. He did so before, and he is the same Hoy God who judges rightly.
I could feel our heavenly Father will not take present events sitting down. As he did in the past, He would once again show to all and sundry who’s on top of the game.
“ … all the world from east to west will know
there is no other God. I am the Lord and there is no other.
I create the light and make the darkness.
I send good times and bad times.
I the Lord, am the one who does these things.” (Isaiah 45: 6-7)
“ Look now; I myself am he!
There is no other god but me!
I am the one who kills and gives life;
I am the one who wounds and heals;
no one can be rescued from my powerful hand! (Deut 32:39)
The time of weeping has begun.
There is no other recourse but to run to Him who alone has the power to save us. The God of judgment is the same heavenly Father whose heart swells with love even for the vilest of men because His son shed his precious love for the sins of all men, for all time. When we look at his Son, Jesus Christ, we look at the Father’s love for mankind. What great love it is!
I pray the veil that covers people’s eyes and ears be wrenched apart by the power of God’s Spirit that they may know the great salvation God offers and partake of the banquet and glory that await the redeemed in His heavenly city.
